Laughs & Liberation is an arts and activism series featuring sketch comedy, live performances and panel discussions with local leaders, activists and creatives. The objective of the series is to underscore the power of laughter, the responsibility of civic engagement and the utility of everyday activism. The series also aims to inspire groups and individuals to lend their gifts and
skills to their community.
Featuring sketch comedy and a panel discussion moderated by Lisa Lawrence, Lola Ivory Productions in discussion with Samantha Apgar, League of Women Voters & Temple University's Master of Public Policy, Salaah Muhammad, Color of Change & Salaah's Corner Podcast & Mike Marbach, Creator, Director & Producer.
Ticket Proceeds to be donated to Workers Revolutionary Collective (WRC), specifically to the Stolen Lands Collective, which is the recognition of the theft of land from indigenous American tribes and the working class labor that has built the homes and workplaces to reclaim the land in the name of the peoples' needs. WRC works to organize communities to take cooperative ownership of the land in our oppressed and working neighborhoods to provide shelter and local food sources without pretence.
